Fall of 2012 and Getting Ready for Winter

It seems like we have been running since the school year started and it is almost half over already.  We have been busy but had lots of fun too.

The girls ran the kids fun run at the salmon festival and were excited that they received some ribbons.

Miss S has been dancing up a storm since she was accepted into the local community ballet group.  She is in the middle with her arms out.

Miss A loves collecting leaves during the fall.

We had fun at the festival of lights.  We ran into two of my former students that are part of the county royalty.  Miss A was super excited because she got to meet the princesses.

We enjoyed watching the parade, well actually the antics of our friend Kipp.

Dr. D got to cruise around on this really awesome bike.

Miss A was able to celebrate her birthday twice.  Once at our house and once at grandma and grandpas house.  Here is her first party at our home.

Dr. D volunteered to run one of the Halloween festival game booths at Miss S' school.

Miss A ran into one of her playgroup friends at the festival.

Miss S modeling her twinkle witch costume.

Little Miss A in her red riding hood costume.

The girls made their own tissue paper hats for Miss A's true birthday.

Miss S with her auntie.

Miss A wanted a mermaid party so here is what the decorations looked like for it.

A mermaid party could not be complete without starfish wands.

The big 3 year old blowing out her candles.

Miss A watching the waves with daddy.

Celebrating great grandma's birthday.  Happy 85th!

Cousins.

Miss A picked the perfect pumpkin.  Just her size.

Miss S searched for just the right one too.

This is a two handed job.

Miss S said it was really gooey inside of the pumpkin.

All lined up for her school parade.
Trick or treating downtown until it started pouring.

All the daycare kids before braving the rain for candy.

Sisters cuddling up in a sleeping bag.

The final product of a makeover.

Here are the makeup artists.

Frolicking along the beach.
That is Dr. D in the plane window.  Out for a flight over the canyons near our home.  The pilot even allowed him to fly the plane for part of the flight.

That little green spot is the roof of our house taken from the plane above.

Miss A a true reason to be thankful on Thanksgiving.

Dr. D and his sister, all laughs.

The turkey is done.  Yum.

Miss S out for a hike.

Miss A enjoying the beautiful day.

Miss A holding one of our pet walking sticks.

Miss S and some of her fellow ballerinas at the Christmas preview advertising for the Nutcracker.

Miss S was enjoying the cool crisp day outside.  Perfect for building fairy houses in the forest.

Sometimes the tree doesn't look quite that big when it is outside.  We had to trim it quite a bit so that it did not take up the entire living room.

Miss S and Miss A got a special package from Santa at the post office.  They were so excited.

Summer Time 2012

We had a fun summer.  Dr. D spent some time in Australia and Mom and the girls traveled to Southern California.  We also had a great time playing at our house when the smoke wasn't too thick from some large summer wildfire that were burning throughout the northern part of the state.

Miss A enjoying the cool pool.

Summer swimming in the sun.

Miss A in training for Cirque du Soleil.

Miss A's future is so bright she has to wear shades.

Having fun playing and dressing up with Uncle John.

Miss S was excited to see Shamu.

Miss A enjoyed the show except for the part where she got splashed by a huge wave of water.

 Meeting Elmo and Big Bird.

Fun at the park.  Of course she loves anything that involves climbing.

Running on the baseball field with her cousin Wyatt.

Meeting one of the newest members of the extended family.  Miss A loves babies.

 Supergirl...

and her spidey friend.

Having fun at California adventure with grandma.

We met all sorts of interesting characters there.

Miss S got to check out Cars Land and scenes from one of her favorite movies.

We met Lightning Mcqueen.

 and of course Tow Mater.

Before we knew it summer was over and mom had to go back to work.  First day of the school year.

We were really excited when daddy came back home with all sorts of goodies, including crawfish traps that were fun to play in.

Kylie had to have quite a few stitches when she tore open her side on a manzanita shrub.  It did have some positive side effects such as sedation.  She actually stayed still long enough for the kids to cuddle up with her.
We had fun at the county fair.  Dr. D got a few ribbons for some paintings and photography.  The girls had fun playing and seeing all of the animals.

No fun going to the fair unless you hit a few of the rides.  This is one of their favorites.

Dr. D and his dad looking over plans for something.  Dr. D apparently had on his thinking cap.

Ahoy matey.  Gotta love the mustaches.
