Let the Summer Fun Begin

The summer fun begins and so does the warm weather.

With warm weather, the rattlesnakes are back out.

A happy father's day at Lassen Park.  Daddy and his crazy girls.

Miss S spotted this yellow bellied marmot resting on a rock.

We set up camp for the night in Warner Valley.

The girls enjoyed hiking around.

A family photo at boiling springs lake.  When Miss S talks about this lake she tells people, "It is hot enough to boil all the meat off an animal."

Lotus at Wilson Lake.

Up close view of the flowers.

The girls fishing on the lake shore.

Dr. D collecting roots.

 The sunflowers in bloom.

Miss S keeping cool in the pool at swim lessons.

Miss S practicing kartwheels.

Enjoyed seeing out college roommate at his family reunion.

Visiting with our best man and his family.

Everyone enjoyed singing and celebrating grandpa's birthday.
A big bear decided to take a walk in our driveway.  Our dog was busily running circles around it just a few feet from it.  Glad we didn't have to make any emergency vet visits.

We have a couple of flying squirrels that visit our feeder nightly.  They are adorable.  Squirrels we don't mind feeding.
Miss S loves are dog.  Although Kylie doesn't always look like she enjoys it.

This container is not for the log cabin pieces, it is a hat.

The girls hanging out with some of mommy's friends from college and their kids at a park in Hayward.

The girls helping daddy strip willows for some baskets.

Visiting with cousin Cameron at the yoyo museum.

Miss A in her princess outfit.  It inspired her to dance.  I guess all it takes is two swimsuits, a nightgown and a swim diaper and you are all set.

Dr. D getting out some creative juices.  Painting a picture for the deck.

The girls all dressed for the fourth of July.

Miss A showing me all the flowers in the garden.

A Lovely Spring - Blog Hiatus

After a fairly mild spring with little snow, we got busy planting and had a lovely mild spring too.

Dr. D extended the garden to include a fruit tree orchard.  His was busy digging holes and hopefully in a few years we should get some fruit.  Hoping we get to it before the birds do.

Miss S was excited to see the daffodils starting to bloom.

She collected pine needle pom poms and did a little cheer for me.

The ballerina busily leaping.

I think the shirt says it all.

Miss S created a leprechaun trap and this is what she found in it on St. Patrick's day.

Super excited about the gold coins that were left by the leprechaun.

Miss A enjoying a break at the preserve.

The girls enjoyed an apple with grandma after a trip to the apple orchard.

Love the outfit.  She woke up and said she was cold.  She went back and added more layers for drinking hot cocoa.

It was pouring at the community Easter egg hunt.  So they buried the eggs in hay and covered the area with tarps.

Miss A walking around our property.

First of the top front teeth gone.

Miss A and Miss S had a blast making shaving cream creations.

Nothing like taking the car for a spin at the local fair.

Miss A likes the small animals such as bunnies and goats but is petrified of larger pigs and cows.

Finishing off our visit to the fair with an ice cream cone.

Kindergarten graduation already.  She had a great year and really enjoyed school.

Miss S will miss her kindergarten teacher next year.  Off to first grade.
