Swinging from the trees

Now that Miss S can sit up on her own, she got the chance to try out her swing. She loved it.


It tastes pretty good too.


All that fun can make you very sleepy.

Getting Ready for Winter

Talk about a weather change. One day we are sitting in shorts and tank tops, the next we are ready to break out the down comforter. The weather changed by 20 degrees, dropping our night time temps. into the 40s. All the clouds also dropped some rain on us. Needless to say it definitely put us in the mode to get ready for winter. Here is Dr. D with a truck full of downed wood from around the property.

I happened to catch our bug with her tongue out while babbling.

The cool air and rain cleared up some of the valley air. We are once again able to see the Sutter Buttes from upstairs.

Fall weather has arrived, along with some teeth

Miss S is getting her upper two front teeth. You can see the little white spots coming through especially on her left side.

Here's the view of the sunset from our deck. The daylight hours are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler.

It is LABOR Day..

Dr. D and his folks really decided to do some labor around our place today. They created a fenced in area for our dogs (See above). The dogs are pretty good about sticking around our place but needed an enclosed area for the times when we are gone a while longer.
Here is some of the paddock fencing that was used around the horse barn. Since we do not have horses, we decided to convert it to dog fencing.
The fencing got a new paint job and some meshing.
Then we found a nice shady area near the house to create the enclosure. The nice thing is that it can be moved if this location does not work well.

Here's a funny picture from earlier this week. Dr. D is always bringing home interesting things from his walks around the property. This western fence lizard was spotted in a precarious location as he was walking around inside the house.
